Already in the last days in the "old" year, the Watles was illuminated by sunshine every day, to the delight of many skiers in the ski paradise Watles. The past week was so filled by numerous skiing and hiking days. Thus, use of holiday visitors as well as local mountain enthusiasts, the pleasant temperatures to go with your snowshoes, backcountry skis or on foot to the Höferalm. Good-humored guests celebrated there at the weekly event until late into the night.
The next morning, then went 9 courageous snowshoeing fans of the Hotel Gerstl accompanied by Chef Luke, on the trail of revelers from the previous day and hiked to Höferalm and thus to the Plantapatsch hut. The route took us from a romantic and snowy mountain landscape. From there we enjoyed the stunning views over the Val Venosta, watch the world drift in Watles ski and feasted while the specialties of the hut Plantapatsch.
The new year promises much much sun now we will savor extensively in the next few hikes in the coming week.
